BASN BMS2 - Premium Sound & Build

The BASN BMS2 is an impressive microphone with solid build quality and great sound. It comes with a padded hard case, XLR cable, shock mount, and foam cover, providing great value for the price. I love how it sounds when recording my guitar and celloclear and balanced, capturing every detail of my instruments.

The microphone requires phantom power and is a bit heavy, so a sturdy boom arm is necessary. Overall, the BMS2 delivers excellent performance and professional quality. If youre looking for a reliable mic, this one is definitely worth considering!

Sound quality hits the mark

This is a good mic. The sound it captures is clear and precise, highlighting every nuance. Whether I use it for vocals or podcasts, it doesn't disappoint, and the construction feels robust. For the cost, it offers significant value to anyone looking to enhance their audio setup. A solid choice for those into recording or live streaming sessions. Recommended.

Sounds awesome!

This mic sounds great! The build quality on this is quite impressive, this is a heavy mic so make sure your boom arm can handle the weight. Also, this is a very nice looking microphone, which I know doesn't matter, but it is nice to look at. It comes in a nice hard, padded storage/travel case with cutouts for each item. It comes with a pretty good xlr cable and an extra soft carrying bag for the mic. This does require 48v phantom power, so make sure you have that available. The shock mount is also pretty heavy duty as well. It does come with a foam cover, but as another reviewer mentioned, it does catch on every part of the mic when adding/removing from the mic. Plus it covers up the nice aesthetics of the mic.

I would say that the buttons are a little "soft" and kind of easy to push. You can hear some noise when pushing the buttons as well. It does pick up sounds from the back and sides, but it wasn't as much as I initially thought it would be. Although, this isnt the type of mic you get to use in a noisy environment anyways, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue for most people. There are 2 gain adjustments you can make, -6 & -12 db and 2 low cut filters 40 & 300hz. I have this hooked up to my Focusrite Vocaster One and recorded in Hindenburg.

If you are looking for a fantastic sounding mic, with a rock solid build, then you should definitely check out this one from BASN.

Budget Mic That Competes with the Big Leagues

The BASN BMS2 microphone completely surprised me. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it wasnt cheaply made. The construction is solid, and the shock mount, featuring carbon fiber, is one of the best Ive seen. The flight case and packaging are also impressive, especially for this price range.

I tested it on four singers and an acoustic guitar, and it handled voices beautifully, particularly female vocals, bringing out great detail. When I recorded guitar, I was shocked by how much clarity and depth it captured. There is a slight noise floor, but nothing thats a deal-breaker. I put it head-to-head with other microphones in its price range, and it competed toward the top. I even compared it to my go-to mic, which costs six times more, and the BMS2 still held its own.

I didnt expect to love this mic, but it earned a spot in my mic locker. Whether for vocals or acoustic instruments, it performs way above its price point and is definitely worth checking out.

This is a really nice Mic

I am pleased with this microphone. It is very solidly made. It's actually rather heavy. If you are using on a boom arm, you will want a good quality boom. The cheap ones will have a hard time supporting it.

The sound is good. I would say it's comparable to other mics I have at or above this price point. The 2 step attenuation pad is a nice feature. It also has 2 high pass filters. I tested it with an acoustic guitar and was very pleased with the clarity and frequency response.

The hard case is good quality and provides great protection. The provided XLR cable is average. The foam cover is also like most.

This is a good quality Mic built by a company that primarily makes in ear monitors. I think it is well worth the price. Recommended.
